On December 11, 2009, Toni Hare spoke to an audience of 100 cancer care professionals gathered in Vienna, Va., for ACCC's 5th Annual Hospital Summit. Her presentation, "How to Make the Best Use of Your Cancer Registry" provided insight into making better use of registry data, how quality cancer data can affect cancer care locally and nationally, and how quality cancer data is applied to decisions affecting future planning. August 12, 2009

CHAMPS' technology, CurePath for Oncology, a cancer care quality measurement tool currently in development, was featured in Cleveland's MedCity News Web Site. The article, "Cleveland firm the latest to ready a pay-for-performance software tool," written by Chris Seper, stated "CHAMPS’ product — called CurePath^TM — will incorporate publicly reported data as well as other benchmarks from a health system to create a guide doctors can use to see and compare cases around an agreed-upon standard of care."

April 2009

The April 2 edition of NCRA: News Abstracts, NCRA's new monthly e-newsletter, included a link to the Advance article entitled Making the Data Meaningful, featuring The Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Fairview Hospital, a long-standing client of CHAMPS Oncology Data Services (ODS).

March 2009

CHAMPS ODS clients, including MetroHealth Cancer Care Center, a CHAMPS ODS full service client, were granted with the 2008 Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA) by the CoC of the American College of Surgeons for striving for excellence in quality cancer care.
